The United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the City of Atlanta, and CIFAL Atlanta (the International Center for the Training of Local Authorities) will co-host the third annual International Water Forum June 4-6. This year's forum will examine the impact of climate change and variability on water resource management.

Government representatives, city water planners, policy-makers, senior-level water officials and select private sector representatives are invited to attend a three-day forum that will discuss the impact of climate change on water resources.

The opening reception, In Hot Water, will be held Wednesday, June 4. Hosted by MWH Global and The Climate Group, representatives from national press outlets will discuss the media’s role in covering climate change and water resources. Panelists are to include representatives from the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, CNN, The Weather Channel and News Corp. Opening remarks are scheduled from Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

During the International Water Forum session June 5-6, delegates will hear from International water experts, government officials and private sector representatives on topics such as climate variability, trans-boundary issues and water conservation. Delegates will also consider best practices in climate change mitigation and learn about climate change modeling resources.
