Compliance Assistance

Assistance by P2AD focuses on pollution prevention, source reduction, reuse, and recycling. However, many businesses also have questions about whether they are in compliance with all the applicable environmental laws and regulations. There are a variety of organizations and websites that can assist you with compliance issues.

  • The Georgia Environmental Protection Division is the Division in the Department of Natural Resources with a mission of enforcing environmental regulations within the state. EPD has a wealth of compliance information on their website, including rules, and many technical guidance documents. EPD’s Air Protection Branch also houses the state’s Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP). This program offers confidential assistance to all small business sectors with any compliance questions related to air regulations.
  • Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute also offers compliance assistance and environmental management services. It has a number of regional field offices throughout the state.
  • Download the EPA Sector Notebooks for your industry. These extensive documents cover demographics, regulations, and pollution prevention in many different industries.
  • EPA also has ten compliance assistance centers. Each center serves a specific audience by explaining, in plain language, the federal environmental regulations that apply to that industry sector. These centers also offer pollution prevention information, vendor directories, downloadable software, and links to other assistance providers. Below are the direct links to the ten compliance centers.
