Through a joint effort with P2AD, the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) has created a searchable directory of building products manufactured in Georgia designated as Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP). US Climate Action Partnership of Businesses and NGOs Issues Call to Action

Ten major U.S. businesses and four national environmental organizations issued a joint report this week, A Call to Action, calling on the federal government to quickly pass strong national legislation to cut global warming pollution. The companies and NGOs involved in the Jan. 22 announcement were: Alcoa, BP America, Caterpillar, Duke Energy, DuPont, Florida Power and Light, General Electric, Lehman Brothers, Pacific Gas & Electric, and PNM Resources, Environmental Defense, the World Resources Institute, Pew Center on Global Climate Change, and Natural Resources Defense Council. Environmental Compliance Basics Course Offered by Georgia Tech Feb. 6

If you need a refresher on the basics, want to learn about recent regulatory changes, or have new staff in need of a primer, this course is for you. Environmental Compliance Basics is a one-day overview of the regulations that affect most manufacturers, which includes exercises illustrating the practical applications of the requirements and a discussion of the technologies typically used to meet permit limits. The first offering is Feb. 6 at the Tifton Chamber of Commerce, with subsequent dates of May 10 in Carrollton and Sept. 12 in Augusta. Registration for Partners is $120.
